How to get the most out of your Employment Insurance (EI) entitlement? My strategy with employment insurance was to use every little bit while I could. When on Employment Insurance (EI), take your time with your claim, use the full entitement to find a job, maybe even time your start date. My angle was a One year plan, I hated my job. I worked in dealerships listening to everyone complain from every angle, it sucked.

 

So I was lucky enough to make them hate me and fire me, (best day ever) knowing the whole time I had an excellent Employment Insurance entitlement that was equal to what I made at the dealership. So over my 34 week Employment Insurance (EI) entitlement, I started a business and enjoyed life again. The business never made a dime but got me back into school. This was my third time on employment insurance, and I was getting sick of going from Job to Employment Insurance (EI) and Employment Insurance (EI) to a job.

It was the last time, so applied for an extension of benefits with the Goodwill action centre. Employment Insurance (EI) gave me an extension of benefits for one year to complete my first year of Chemical Engineering. (not business, or e-books 101 ) I had a Co-op program that would cover the second year, but Employment Insurance (EI) would have paid up to three years. Which is very Nice! So the story goes to get the most out of your Employment Insurance is to dream big. When on Employment Insurance (EI) it’s hard to stay positive, but think to the future.
